About Waari Tradition Sri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sant Tukaram was an influential poet-saint who is prominent for his contribution towards the Bhakti Movement in Maharashtra. He was born in Dehu.Sant Tukaram believed that God could be found by loving and serving our fellow human-beings.He felt that, it was not necessary to renounce the world, and lead the life of an ascetic by ignoring our responsibilities, in order to attain God’s blessings. His teachings were based on many social issues. Sant Tukaram also included the importance of the ecosystem in his teachings. His compositions have been included in Guru Granth Sahib.
